4 weeks to run a measured beta and make a scale decision
It is short enough to keep momentum and long enough to produce evidence.
Why this framework works
Most companies still evaluate AI projects like traditional software projects. That is the core mistake.
AI execution is closer to a contract-to-hire decision:
can this role produce value,
under real constraints,
with measurable outcomes,
and with clear accountability.
The 2-6-4 Method forces pace and discipline at the same time.
You are not proving that AI is interesting. We already know it is.
You are proving that one workflow can improve throughput, quality, or cycle time in production conditions.
Phase 1: 2 Weeks to Validate
Goal: confirm this use case is worth integrating before you burn team time.
Deliverables by end of week 2

One baseline metric and one target metric
Human vs AI task map (machine-first, human-first, hybrid)

Pick one. Prove one. Then expand.
Phase 2: 6 Weeks to Integrate
Goal: move from concept to real workflow behavior.
This is where most teams stall. Not because the model is weak, but because integration work is real work.
What happens in this phase
Connect to the systems where work already lives
Define checkpoints and approval gates
Evaluate one to two tools based on team capability and workflow fit
Build exception paths so edge cases do not break trust
Add visibility so leaders can track output quality and cycle time
A field example
In one industrial-services implementation, the breakthrough was not model quality. It was workflow design.
Once we assigned clear machine-first steps for repetitive checks, human checkpoints for approvals, and explicit exception routing, the team moved faster with less rework.
Adoption improved because the process matched how people already operated.
No dramatic interface overhaul. Just disciplined execution, and clear accountability.
Phase 3: 4-Weeks of Measured Beta
Goal: run in production-like conditions and decide what scales.
This is not a “does it work?” pilot. It is a decision period.
It is a controlled bet to measure output versus cost.
Score this phase on three dimensions
Performance: Did the core problem improve?
Reliability: Did output hold under real-world conditions?
Adoption: Did the team actually use it without constant forcing?

At the end of the 4 weeks, choose one:
Scale now
Iterate with a defined fix list
Stop and reallocate effort
If you do not define this decision gate up front, you will drift.
What to do this week
Pick one painful, frequent workflow.
Name one owner with authority.
Define one baseline metric and one target.
Map each step as machine-first, human-first, or hybrid.
Start the 2-week validation sprint.
That is enough to move from AI talk to AI execution.
